Dr. Foca

Kimberly Foca, DVM, MS

Dr. Foca grew up in New Jersey and started working as a veterinary technician in 2003. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology at Rutgers University, then moved to Oahu to attend the University of Hawaii where she received a Master of Science in Developmental and Reproductive Biology focusing on the human amnion during preterm-premature births. Dr. Foca then pursued her veterinary degree at Ross University in St. Kitts, finishing with her clinical year at NC State College of Veterinary Medicine.

She instantly fell in love with the Raleigh area and decided to stick around. She worked in a hospital in Raleigh for a few years before following her dream to open her own. Besides caring for animals, Dr. Foca enjoys reading, practicing archery, and hiking with her coconut retriever, Daisy. She also has two cats from Hawaii, Sir Lucas Magellan and Menagerie.

Meghan Courey, DVM

Dr. Courey spent the early years of her life in Ohio, before moving to South Carolina. She graduated from Clemson University in 2018 and then went to the Mississippi State College of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation in 2022, she packed up her bags and returned to the Carolinas to join the team at Wilson Veterinary Hospital and is now sharing that time with Wendell Animal Hospital. Dr. Courey has a keen interest in clinical pathology, internal medicine, surgery, and calico cats. Meghan spends her time outside of work with her partner in crime, Peter. They have two dogs, Booty and Mango, and four cats, Quinn, Fish, Eleanor and Pickles. When she isn’t working, you can find Meghan cooking, running, paddle boarding, crafting, or spending quality time with her family.

Samantha

Jen, Practice Manager

Jen was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Western Illinois University before relocating to Raleigh in 2014. Jen has always had a passion for animals and pursued a career working with them, starting at a doggie daycare before becoming a veterinary nurse. She lives with her husband, Brandon, and four rescue dogs, Archer, Kamryn, Addison, and Ande.

Samantha

Samantha, RVT

Sam is a native of NC, born and raised in Currituck on the Outer Banks. In 2008 she moved to Raleigh with her brother to pursue a career working with animals. Sam recently graduated from an AVMA accredited school with her Associates of Science for the Veterinary Technician program and has been working in the veterinary field for over ten years. She plans to pursue her Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Technology soon. Sam was also a wildlife rehabilitator for seven years and still enjoys an opportunity to help our local wildlife. She lives in Cary with her husband, Mark, two daughters, Saviya (seven) and Mayla (five), two cats that she hand raised, Smokey and Saisha, and two birds, Princess and Tweety Blue. She loves spending time with her family: going swimming, playing soccer, and they have recently picked up mountain biking.

Ryan

Ryan, Veterinary Assistant

Ryan was born and raised in upstate New York. After graduating from SUNY Oswego in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology, he decided to move to the Raleigh area. He has always loved animals, growing up with dogs, cats, bunnies, rats, and numerous other household pets. Ryan began working at a local dog daycare after moving to the area, eventually leading him to help manage a local shelter and then becoming a veterinary assistant. Through all his experience, Ryan found himself constantly observing dogs to better understand their body language and behavior. In 2017 he furthered his knowledge in dog behavior and became a certified dog trainer. He lives in Garner with his five dogs Polo, Libby, Pepper, Ashton, Thumper and his cat Nala.

Hector

Hector, Veterinary Assistant

Hector was born and raised in North Carolina and attended North Johnston High school where he graduated in 2020. During this time, he found his strengths were in helping and being around animals.

Hector later attended Miller Motte College to pursue a veterinary technology program and graduated in July of 2022. In his free time, Hector enjoys going on walks with his 4year old Siberian husky, Soruyo, and spending time with his family and friends.

Taylor

Taylor has been in veterinary medicine since 2012, starting as a client service representative and working her way though the hospital gaining experience in all departments over the years. Her passion for animals stemmed from growing up on her family’s dairy farm in Wisconsin.

One day she plans to have her own farm where all the animals are rescued. She enjoys being outdoors, hunting and fishing. Her and her fiancé have two dogs (Maggie, and Lexi), cat (Pretzel Biscuit), a bunny (Tito) a not so “mini” pot belly pig named Peaches, and a fainting goat named Ferdinand.
